Program Major Partner
Primary Industries and Regions South Australia (PIRSA)
Brand South Australia is delighted to have PIRSA on board again as the Major Partner for the program. South Australian Minister for Regional Development, Geoff Brock, said the South Australian Regional Awards are an important way of recognising those who make significant contributions to regional South Australia.
Message from The Hon Geoff Brock MP, Minister for Regional Development:
The State Government is committed to building stronger regions, and so we are proud in 2016 to again be the major partner for the South Australian Regional Awards.
This is our fourth year partnering with Brand South Australia on these awards, and every year we are impressed by the number and quality of nominations received from across the state.
The awards create a valuable and important opportunity to celebrate and promote the significant contributions, successes, and achievements of regional South Australian individuals, groups, and organisations.
The state government’s Economic Plan outlines ten priorities that together form a vision for South Australia, and regional South Australia is integral to that vision because the success of regional South Australia underpins the success of our state.
Regional South Australia contributes around $25.5 billion to the State’s economy and produces around 50% of our merchandise exports – and does this with just 29% of the State’s population.
This year’s Regional Awards will be particularly interesting and exciting, with a new approach to sourcing and judging entries.
PIRSA, through its Regions SA division, is very proud to support the Awards and to be travelling on this journey with Brand South Australia and the other sponsors.
The Hon Geoff Brock MP
Minister for Regional Development
