Investment in infrastructure has the capacity to stimulate and enhance the productivity of South Australia’s economy, creating jobs in the short term, and ultimately an efficient, well-functioning infrastructure network for our state.
Alex Lock is a Senior Landscape Architect at Taylor Cullity Lethlean (TCL), Australia’s most awarded landscape architecture firm. Originally from Bundaberg, Alex chooses South Australia to be part of shaping Adelaide’s growth.
Since graduating from the University of Adelaide, Alex has worked at TCL in a team who design public spaces for people. Their work can be seen around the globe, but chances are, most South Australian’s have also visited or walked along her team’s work. Projects like Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga and the Riverbank Footbridge have redefined the way we use our city. For Alex, urban design brings people together in public spaces and enriches the social fabric of a community.
As cities grow, public spaces are used more and more.
“It’s important that new infrastructure projects stays true to the space around it, while enhancing the efficiency and vibrancy of a city,” says Alex.
“It’s a real thrill to be part great collaborating teams shaping these spaces and the way that people interact with them.”
