I Choose SA for Renewable Energy

Discovering our state’s progressive attitude towards renewable energy.

South Australia is leading the way in the transformation to the next generation of renewable energy technologies, with over $7.1 billion invested in renewable energy in South Australia to date.

The state currently hosts 35 per cent of the nation’s installed wind capacity and is home to the world’s largest lithium ion battery, bringing added reliability to the state’s power supplies.

Jenny Paradiso is a passionate innovator in solar energy. Jenny Paradiso started her solar energy company, Suntrix, from her kitchen table. Eight years later, Jenny chooses to keep her multi-million dollar business here in South Australia because of the growth potential in the renewable energy industry.

Starting her career as a librarian, Jenny was named the Telstra Business Women’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016 for her pioneering work in the solar industry. Suntrix now boats a long list of residential and commercial clients locally, nationally and internationally. In fact, Suntrix win as many jobs interstate as they do in South Australia, demonstrating the strength of our local industry.

Jenny believes that the South Australian Government has been very progressive in setting up a plan for the state’s future based on renewables.

For Jenny, “there is no better time to be in solar and battery storage.”

“Renewable energy is the future, there’s no doubt about that.”

Josh Buckton is a Solar Designer for ZEN Energy. Originally an electrician by trade, Josh has chosen to build his career in South Australia because of the career opportunities created as the state experiences a renewables revolution.

Starting his training at the Sustainable Industries Education Centre at Tonsley, Josh started his solar career installing panels, but now designs ZEN solar and energy storage systems for schools, businesses and homes. Through his work at ZEN, Josh is part of what is tipped to be the largest solar and power storage investment in the country – ZEN’s $1 billion renewable energy project, which will generate over one gigawatt of new clean energy in South Australia.

ZEN Energy has been listed amongst the fastest growing companies in Australia, and Josh is proud to be part of this dynamic and innovative industry.

“The renewable energy sector is booming here, and there is continued growth potential for the solar industry,” says Josh.

“South Australia is fast becoming a world leader in sustainable energy solutions, and I’m incredibly excited to be part of that.”
