Developing her understanding of South Australia’s water challenges and industry strengths during her career across natural resources, environmental protection and industry development – Rachel commenced in the CEO role at the Water Industry Alliance (WIA) in July 2016.
Focused on developing growth opportunities for the water industry, the WIA is a member based organisation that brings together individuals and organisations with exceptional skills, products and experience in solving water challenges.
“With our climate, and our limited fresh water resources, South Australia has developed leading edge capabilities in managing water scarcity. These capabilities are receiving increased attention from around the world and many countries are now actively looking to South Australia for assistance on their water management challenges,” said Rachel.
“It is a great story to tell, and I have been able to share this when attending meetings overseas representing our water industry.
“It is the perfect combination of elements, just waiting for a spark to ignite our water industry.
"If we can build on these strengths there is a real opportunity for the industry to grow globally. This is great news for South Australia and future jobs and economic growth.”
The Water Industry Alliance welcomes enquiries from new members, with a range of membership levels to suit individuals and companies.
